You cannot ask someone to love you more than you love yourself; except God. His love teaches you to live yourself.
God is the only one whose love forces us to love ourselves by virtue of His plans for us. It is not His will that we be self loathing and miserable.
Why don’t you love you?
Your relationships and the way you respond to others is a clear indication of how you feel about yourself. If the God that orchestrates the heavenly realm has seen fit to be in relationship and in covenant with you, you no longer have the right NOT to love you!
The more we love ourselves, the more we can love God. The more open and honest we are translates in our relationship with God and brings forth true intimacy.
Love yourself, for Christ’s sake!
This is who you are!!!
But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. (Ephesians 2:4-10 NASB)
You are the beloved of Christ, seek His face continually to learn to love yourself and others fully.
