This Daniel!

Then this Daniel began distinguishing himself among the commissioners and satraps because he possessed an extraordinary spirit, and the king planned to appoint him over the entire kingdom. Then the commissioners and satraps began trying to find a ground of accusation against Daniel in regard to government affairs; but they could find no ground of accusation or evidence of corruption, inasmuch as he was faithful, and no negligence or corruption was to be found in him. Then these men said, “We will not find any ground of accusation against this Daniel unless we find it against him with regard to the law of his God.” (‭Daniel‬ ‭6‬:‭3-5‬ NASB)

When God established Daniel, men became jealous and plotted against him. They had no cause to accuse him unless on the grounds of the God he served. Can this be said about us today? Are we so faithful in the place that God has set us that no grounds of accusation can be found? Or are we slack concerning our appointment, our jobs, our projects, our deadlines?
In this time, the officials of king Darius enticed him to sign a decree banning petitions to any god but him. The punishment was being tossed into the lion’s den, Daniel continued praying 3 times daily despite this knowledge. How many of us would have done so?
Needless to say, those men brought him before the king in accusation and Daniel was sent into the lion’s den. An interesting thing happened before the king sent him in…

Then the king gave orders, and Daniel was brought in and cast into the lions’ den. The king spoke and said to Daniel, “Your God whom you constantly serve will Himself deliver you.” (‭Daniel‬ ‭6‬:‭16‬ NASB)

King Darius recognized the power of Daniel’s God! Why?
  • His faith – Daniel had an unshakable faith in his God and not even the fear of death kept him from serving Him.
  • Deliverance – These people had previously witnessed this God rescue the 3 Hebrew boys, therefore they believed this God could deliver Daniel.
  • Signs and wonders – God revealed the secrets of heaven to Daniel, he was spoke of as having a great spirit within him. This spirit and insight being knowledge given him by his God.
  • Proof – The proof is in the pudding Yall! After the night in the lions den, Daniel emerged unscathed and a decree was issued naming the God of Daniel as the one true living God!!!
What does your faith to compel people to do? Is your life a reflection of God’s power? How will men believe you serve this great God who can’t even deliver you from the sin you so constantly battle? What proof of this living God is on your life?
I am believing God for a season of signs and wonders that will compel unbelievers! I believe God will make His presence so obvious in His people that men will have no choice but to believe the power of the God we serve!!! But it begins with us!!!
